“Burst,” the short story L. Andrew Cooper wrote for Halloween 2024, follows the attendees of a small wedding shower after an unexpected package explodes, covering them with confetti that has deadly consequences. More lighthearted than most of Cooper’s work, early readers who often shy from the extremes but soldier on out of insane devotion found this one fairly easy to take because it’s really, really gory, but kind of not at the same time. See for yourself. In addition to being exclusive, this story is a Horrific Scribblings original. (~7,000 words).
