Monte Remer (May 2025 – August 2025)

Monte Remer is a writer from the Pacific Northwest. He tells stories of strange happenings and macabre occurrences, both unbecoming of the kind and simple hippie that he is. His work has appeared in parABnormal Magazine, Mythaxis Magazine, and the Furrow Literary Journal. Somewhere in the woods, his aggressive typing on old keyboards can be heard as the dust rises out of them like smoke from a fresh fire.
Jack Conway (August 2025 – December 2025)

Jack Conway is a writer from Portland, Oregon who specializes in fantasy and historical fiction. He spends his time poring over maps, either real or fantastical, and he has published a fantasy-adventure novel, The Prince of Sikrath. When he’s not writing, you might find him setting up a new board game or reading by the window on a rainy day.
Briar Shannon (October 2025 – December 2025)

Briar Shannon is a marketing and communications professional from Northern Virginia. Her experience ranges from public relations to internal communications, which includes producing a wide variety of both corporate and social content. She has also often dabbled in web and graphic design through professional, community, and personal endeavors.
Before inquiring about joining Horrific Scribblings, Shannon’s short story “The Underground Auction Ride” was accepted by and is now published in Horrific Scribes.
Reese Hurd (January 2026 – April 2026)

Reese Hurd is a current student of University College Cork’s MA in Creative Writing as well as a recent graduate of their Film and Screen Media BA. She is from Boston, Massachusetts. Hurd is also an aspiring screenwriter and filmmaker with an interest in the horror genre. Her greatest influences include Shirley Jackson, Stephen King, and gothic film media.
Her most recent work includes Flare, a short film that she wrote and directed. The film was awarded “Best Picture” by UCC and shown at Fastnet Film Festival in the spring of 2025
As an Editorial Assistant, Hurd took part in research, decision-making, and social media management here at Horrific Scribblings.
