L. Andrew Cooper

L. Andrew Cooper specializes in the provocative, scary, and strange. He owns and serves as publisher and primary editor for fiction imprint Horrific Scribblings, which, among other things, publishes Horrific Scribes, a web archive of dark fiction (and some poetry). His books include novels and novellas Miasma, Noir Falling, Descending Lines, Crazy Time, The Skinner Effect, Father Is Pleased, The Middle Reaches (a series), Alex’s Escape, and others. He edited or co-edited fiction anthologies including the Horrific Scribes Presents series, Extremely Weird Splatter, Reel Dark and Imagination Reimagined as well as the textbook Monsters. He has also written 35 award-winning screenplays. After studying literature and film at Princeton and Harvard, he used his Ph.D. to teach about favorite topics from coast to coast in the United States. He now focuses on writing and lives with his husband and cat in North Hollywood, California.

In addition to serving as the primary editor, L. Andrew Cooper contributed “Editorial Introduction: Weird Meat Salvation” as well as the story “Sam the Cat” to Extremely Weird Splatter.
