Apocalyptic / Dystopian Horror
Apocalyptic horror focuses on the end of the world, of human civilization, or of the familiar world order. Dystopian horror focuses on the psychological, philosophical, and physical strains of surviving in a crumbling and/or totalitarian society, which may or may not arise after an apocalyptic event. It often has political dimensions and explores themes of control, identity, and dehumanization.
